THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR YOU!
Eating disorders are the extreme expression of food and weight issues, body obsession,
and psychological disturbances including depression, anxiety, and obsessive-
compulsive disorder. We live in a society that culturally sanctions slenderness and
excessive measures to achieve it; however, when the means to be thin interferes with
healthy physical and psychological functioning, an eating disorder may emerge.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Dr. Dupell received her bachelor's and master's degrees from the
University of Central Oklahoma, and her doctorate in counseling psychology from
Oklahoma State University. She has completed an internship in counseling psychology
at Texas A&M University. Dr. Dupell has worked as a sports psychologist, a staff
psychologist in university counseling centers, and as an adjunct professor in counseling
psychology and education. Dr. Dupell and her colleague, Dr. Sharla Robbins, co-founded the Disordered Eating Center of Central Oklahoma (DECCO) in 2000. DECCO is an intensive outpatient treatment facility providing services for individuals with disordered eating. Clients receive psychological, nutritional, and medical services from a multidisciplinary team specializing in the treatment of eating disorders.
