students on campus photoAcademic Programs - CAFE is a unit within the University of Oklahoma Outreach College of Continuing Education Academic Programs division (Center for English as a Second Language, arts and sciences, fine arts and education and engineering programs), specializing in working with the University’s academic colleges in the development and delivery of credit and noncredit programs for learners of all ages.

CAFE Content area specialists work with academic departments and agencies to provide:

  • local, national and international programs such as credit programs involving on- and off-campus courses, cohorts and travel study opportunities

  • noncredit seminars and workshops focusing on teacher training, public service, human and social problems and cooperative agreements

  • educational training for federal contracts

The Center for English as a Second Language serves the English language needs of the University's international students. Its primary purpose is to provide intensive English instruction to academically qualified students who have not been granted admission to the University because of a need for more preparation in the English language.
